Victory Over Sin!

Bookmark and Share

"But thank God! He gives us VICTORY OVER SIN and death through our Lord Jesus Christ." - 1 Corinthians 15:57

SIN is sneaky, deceptive, strong, inviting, alluring, seductive, charming, tempting, magnetic, beguiling, intoxicating, oftentimes thrilling, powerful, haunting, and most of all DEADLY!

The Merriam-Webster Dictionary defines SIN as:
1
a : an offense against religious or moral law
b : an action that is or is felt to be highly reprehensible it's a sin to waste food
c : an often serious shortcoming : fault
2
a : transgression of the law of God
b : a vitiated state of human nature in which the self is estranged from God

Although SIN is clearly defined as a transgression against the divine law of God (even by the world's standards), so often, we seek to justify our sin so that we can continue to satisfy the lying strongholds of our mind that chain us to brokenness, dysfunction, frustration and self ridicule.

The fact is, the more we sin... the more entangled we get with sin... the more likely we are to keep on sinning.

IT'S A TRAP!

The devil wants to kill us. He is working overtime to deceive us into thinking that our sin is OK because he knows that the wages of SIN is death! The devil hates God and hates God's creation.

THE DEVIL HATES YOU!

If he can just make you believe a lie, he can lead you to drink the poison - time and time, again.

But, the good news is that God has made a way out for us!

When we:

RECOGNIZE OUR SIN...
REPENT FROM OUR SIN...
RENOUNCE OUR SIN...
HATE OUR SIN...

God says He will forgive us and wash us clean!

It's all about agreeing with DIVINE LAW.

So, the choice is ours.

Continue to be hypnotized by the lure of sin.

Or, RECOGNIZE, REPENT, RENOUNCE and REPLACE our sinful desires, dysfunctions and habits with the truth from God's Word.

"But if we are living in the light, as God is in the light, then we have fellowship with each other, and the blood of Jesus, his Son, cleanses us from all sin. If we claim we have no sin, we are only fooling ourselves and not living in the truth. But if we confess our sins to him, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all wickedness." - 1 John 1:7-9

LIVE IN THE LIGHT!
