Women Mentoring Women

Bookmark and Share

‭‭1 PETER‬ ‭5:5‬ ‭AMP‬‬

“Likewise, you younger (wo)men [of lesser rank and experience], be subject to your elders [seek their counsel]; and all of you, clothe yourselves with humility toward one another [tie on the servant’s apron], for GOD IS OPPOSED TO THE PROUD [the disdainful, the presumptuous, and He defeats them], BUT HE GIVES GRACE TO THE HUMBLE.”

There is something beautiful about a woman who recognizes the anointing on an older, more experienced woman. Her humility shines with radiant splendor as she gleans from the wisdom of women who have already been there. She is recognized as elegant, soft, and carries a special anointing all her own. Her grace crosses the lines of all age groups.

On the other hand, a woman who thinks she has no need for spiritual mentoring, who only wants to bask in the clamour of the world, shows forth the residue of pride and arrogance. This woman blows a lot of hot air but makes no real mark on culture. She is shallow, empty, and a stumbling block to those watching. Her offense crosses the lines of all age groups.

Lord, help us to be godly women in all environments, with all friends, and at all times. Help us to value one another and respect one another. Help us to emanate the glory of God when we walk into a room - not because of our outward appearance but because of the inner beauty of a meek spirit.
