Celebrate Pentecost

Bookmark and Share

Have you WAITED for the Lord to baptize you with His Spirit?

Have you been BAPTIZED IN WATER after the repentance of your sin? (Acts 19:4 - John's Call to Baptism)

Have you been endued with POWER to overcome sin and endued with POWER that supernaturally equips you for service in God's Kingdom on earth (something God does, not something man has taught you to do)?

Did you know that PENTECOST is June 4, 2017? (See dates from 2010-2025 below)

The word "Pentecost" comes from the Greek word "pentekostos," meaning "50."

In the Old Testament, the Pentecost feast took place 50 days after Passover in celebration of God’s gift for the 10 commandments to Moses.

In the New Testament, the day of Pentecost is a time of celebrating the power of the Holy Spirit and the birth of the Christian church. Pentecost for the believer is 50 days after the Easter resurrection (or, 7 Sunday's after resurrection Sunday).

The Pentecost celebration also signifies freedom from the bondage of sin. Power to overcome sin. Power to live in the fullness of God's blessings. And... power to witness throughout the ends of the earth!

Did you know that over 500 people saw Jesus after He was crucified, but before He ascended? (These 500+ people saw a dead man raised to life!)

1 Corinthians 15:6 - "After that, he was seen of above five hundred brethren at once ..."

But... even though over 500 saw this miracle (a dead man raised to life), only 120 actually WAITED on the promise that Jesus spoke of to take place in the UPPER ROOM.

Acts 1:4-5 - "And (JESUS before His Ascension), being assembled together with them, commanded them that they should not depart from Jerusalem, but WAIT for the promise of the Father, which, saith he, ye have heard of me. For John truly BAPTIZED with water; but ye shall be BAPTIZED with the Holy Ghost not many days hence."

Acts 1:15 - "And in those days Peter stood up in the midst of the disciples, and said, (the number of names together were about an HUNDRED AND TWENTY)..."

So... ARE YOU one of the 380 or one of the 120?

Jesus has invited "all" believers to WAIT and be BAPTIZED WITH THE HOLY SPIRIT AND FIRE.

There is nothing spooky about receiving all that God has for you. There is nothing scary about the Holy Spirit coming upon you.

God wants us to fully surrender to His Spirit. He wants us to WAIT and/or HAVE HANDS LAID UPON US to receive this beautiful gift from above.

Acts 19:2-6 - "He (Paul) said unto them, HAVE YOU RECEIVED THE HOLY GHOST SINCE YOU BELIEVED?

And they said unto him, We have not so much as heard whether there be any Holy Ghost.

And he said unto them, UNTO WHAT THEN WERE YOU BAPTIZED? And they said, UNTO JOHN'S BAPTISM.

Then said Paul, JOHN verily BAPTIZED WITH THE BAPTISM OF REPENTANCE, saying unto the people, that they should believe on him which should come after him, that is, on Christ Jesus. When they heard this, they were baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus. And when PAUL had LAID HIS HANDS UPON THEM, the HOLY GHOST CAME ON THEM; and they spake with tongues, and prophesied."

Acts 1:8 - "But ye shall RECEIVE POWER, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall BE WITNESSES unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the UTTERMOST PARTS OF THE EARTH."

Acts 1:13-14 - "And when they were come in, they went up into an UPPER ROOM, where abode both Peter, and James, and John, and Andrew, Philip, and Thomas, Bartholomew, and Matthew, James the son of Alphaeus, and Simon Zelotes, and Judas the brother of James. These all continued with one accord in prayer and supplication, with the women, and Mary the mother of Jesus, and with his brethren."

Acts 2:1-4 - "And when the day of PENTECOST was fully come, they were all with one accord in one place. And suddenly there came a sound from heaven as of a rushing mighty wind, and it filled all the house where they were sitting. And there appeared unto them cloven tongues like as of fire, and it sat upon each of them. And they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance."

Silence is Golden

Bookmark and Share

In teaching marriage classes and doing biblical counseling, I have found that the biggest problem with most couples is their mouth.

In an effort to communicate, some speak their mind to the fullest extent, not realizing that every thought is not from God... not to be repeated... and, not healthy conversation.

Wrong words, finger pointing, accusations, negative outlooks, and hostile remarks only stir up strife. Friend, God's way is contrary to our impulsive, fleshly behavior. Self-control is a must if you want to cultivate healthy relationships.

Learn to listen more and talk less. Practice being slow to anger.

The devil is busy creating oppressive scenarios, throwing darts of skepticism and releasing the spirit of jealousy. His tactic is to get us offended. Then, once we are weakened by his evil blow, he assigns a horde of demons to fan the flames of anger, resentment, rage and wrath.

Don't allow the devil to push your buttons! Practice being quiet. Pray first. Talk second. And, speak in shorter, more impactful sentences that give God glory. Going on and on about a thought or feeling does not convince the other person of your need; but instead, only dulls their hearing. THEY TUNE YOU OUT!

Long, drawn out, conversations of discontent only acerbate the situation.

Yes, many times, silence is best. In fact, the Lord promises to fight our battles for us - if, we will just trust Him. And, learning to trust God requires self-control.

James says we are to be quick to listen, slow to speak and slow to become angry. Taking God's Word from the pages of our Bible to real life application can certainly be a challenge, but it is definitely doable. It all comes down to prayer and obedience.

Are you praying?

Are you seeking to be obedient?

Will you allow the Holy Spirit to have His way? Or, will you barrel through with patronizing, condemning, hateful and sarcastic words... because, you deserve it? Because you feel the need to vent? Because, it's just the way you are?

If you desire to have more friends, if you want to have a healthy marriage, or, if your goal is to be a person of influence, practice LISTENING.

Practice thought management.

Practice response delay.

Practice word filtering.

Every conversation does NOT require a response. Sometimes, silence is best. Learn to ponder thoughts more... and, speak less. God will increase your effectiveness in communication as you obey His precepts.

Fertile Ground Produces Miracles!

Bookmark and Share

In need of a miracle today?

Miracles happen in fertile ground.

That is, a life that has been washed in the blood of Jesus...

A person who's heart is turned toward The Lord...

A soul that is free from bitterness, anger and resentment...

Someone who is EXPECTING God's favor...

A person who sows seed into others... time, love, resources, respect, forgiveness, money...

Friend, God wants to show up, and show out, in your life TODAY.

Your job is to simply get the soil of your life prepared, so that He has a place to manifest His goodness.

“For the eyes of the Lord run to and fro throughout the whole earth, to shew himself strong in the behalf of them whose heart is perfect toward him."
- 2 Chronicles‬ ‭16:9 KJV

“For the eyes of the Lord are over the righteous, and his ears are open unto their prayers: but the face of the Lord is against them that do evil.”
- 1 Peter‬ ‭3:12‬ ‭KJV‬‬

“Behold, the eye of the Lord is upon them that fear him, upon them that hope in his mercy;”
- Psalms‬ ‭33:18‬ ‭KJV‬‬

“The eyes of the Lord are upon the righteous, and his ears are open unto their cry.”
- Psalms‬ ‭34:15‬ ‭KJV‬‬

Ten Lepers

One glorifies God and is made WHOLE!

In Luke 17:11-19, Jesus heals ten lepers. But, the one leper who turned back and glorified God with a LOUD VOICE was made whole!

Have you turned back with a LOUD VOICE since the Lord used this ministry to bless you, heal you, save your marriage or save your soul?

Friend, if you have been a student of this ministry for any length of time, it is God's protocol that you pour back into the well from which you have been drinking.

When you glorify God with a LOUD VOICE of GIVING, you set yourself up for receiving the fullness of what God has for you.

Nine lepers received a partial healing. But, one leper was made whole.

Will you be made whole? Will you have faith enough to step out of your comfort zone and become a partner with this ministry?

As you pour into our well, we promise to continue to pour back into you!

We Really Need YOUR Help!

THANK YOU so much for sowing seed into this ministry. This is fertile ground that will bring forth 30, 60 and 100 fold blessings to the sower as-well-as to those who are ministered to throughout the year. Expect God's favor.

1 Timothy 6:17-19 (NLT)

"Teach those who are rich in this world not to be proud and not to trust in their money, which is so unreliable.

Their trust should be in God, who richly gives us all we need for our enjoyment.

Tell them to use their money to do good.

They should be rich in good works and generous to those in needalways being ready to share with others.

By doing this they will be storing up their treasure as a good foundation for the future so that they may experience true life."

Failure Isn't Failure

Bookmark and Share

Lately, I've noticed several Facebook posts of people who say they are depressed, lonely, sad, disappointed, tired, frustrated, or in some other negative frame of being. Granted, the devil is after your peace, your joy and your purpose; but he is a liar, a thief, and a distracter.

The Lord is your strength! The Lord is your joy! The Lord has GOOD THINGS laid aside that have your name on them! God is for you!

Let me remind you today that every good thing in life is worth fighting for. In fact, the example we see over and over in scripture is where God's people are required to persevere in spite of giants, enemies, opposition, failure and even in spite of consequences to their own sin.

Sometimes, you've got to ENCOURAGE YOURSELF in the Lord. Pull yourself up by your bootstraps and force yourself to act like who God says you are instead of who the naysayers say you are. Friend, through prayer, bible reading and PARTICIPATION with Kingdom protocol, you are more than a conqueror!

It's not over until God says it's over and He is always working all things out for your good! He has a roadmap of blessings prepared just for YOU!

So, if you've experienced a setback, disappointment, roadblock or any negative outcome from your previous efforts, remember... this is only a test!

Press on! Failure is NOT failure unless you stop trying!

“My brethren, count it all joy when ye fall into divers temptations; Knowing this, that the trying of your faith worketh patience. But let patience have her perfect work, that ye may be perfect and entire, wanting nothing.”
James 1:2-4 KJV
